Go to The Mint [Updated: nevermind]

There are some rumors floating around that The Mint in Raleigh is in danger of closing.  Since Washington continues to be obsessed with taxpayer bailouts, maybe we should petition our representatives for some money for The Mint?

We have no idea if the rumor is true, but in case it is, we can’t more strongly encourage that you go eat here.  We have briefly mentioned The Mint before.  It is excellent, and is probably the best restaurant in the Triangle.  Go and have the tasting menu before it is too late.  Seriously.

** UPDATE:  According to this post at VarmintBites, the chef, Jeremy Clayman, is gone.  This really sucks.  Jeremy, if you ever come across this post, please let us know what you are up to next.

  2. I am very interested to know where Clayman will be working next so update us if you hear. I’ve been to the mint several times and the food was never less than outstanding. My wife and I eat try to eat out at least once a week and The Mint had become a permanent fixture in our rotation of restaurants. I will eagerly be one of the first patrons at Clayman’s next place of employment.

  3. In the Epicurean section of the N&O, Greg Cox reports that Jeremy Clayman is now at the new Busy Bee Cafe. See http://www.newsobserver.com/lifestyles/dining_clubs/epicurean/story/1504938.html for details.
