Thank God, Orellana is back.

They re-opened today. If you haven’t been, go. Go go go go go. Get the torta or the yucca frita con chicharron, and throw in a pupusa or two for good measure.

Orellana was previously discussed here, here, here, and here. It is located at the corner of Roxboro and Infinity.

  1. Tried this place for lunch yesterday. I had the yucca frita con chicharron. The yucca was tasty, but the meat was tough and overcooked. My friend had the pupusa and he thought it tasted a lot like a frozen pita pocket. There were three small children there who seemed to belong to the people working there, all running around barefoot and yelling. One of the children was allowed to put her dirty feet up on the table, where people EAT.

    Not going back.

  2. Sorry you had a bad experience.. I am shocked. I had a torta de carne asada today, and it was as delicious as ever.

  3. Today at Orellana I tried a fried tamale, which equates to fried cornbread, served with Mexican crema. In a perfect world this would be my breakfast every day.
